Comment by Leslie S on January 5, 2010 at 12:06pm: In 2000, ACEnet facilitated the formation of a membership association of farm producers, micro-processors and market partners utilizing farm fresh ingredients. To expand product development and market expansion, the members market products collaboratively under the Food We Love regional brand. The membership association operates under ACEnet’s 501 (c) 3 status and pools resources to promote, demo and distribute products. The Food We Love range of product lines include fresh produce, dairy, meats, bakery and all types of packaged and processed shelf stable food products. The Food We Love Brand strategy has been very effective for processed products, over 50 product lines are on grocery store shelves across the state, but has not galvanized the resources to support the marketing and distribution of less shelf stable or farm fresh specialty crops. Our Athens Kroger store has been a superlative market partner setting up a whole section of an aisle (see photo) to promote the Food We Love and Ohio Proud branded products. Our local manager is very willing to accept all products made in the facility and provides Food Ventures staff ideas for new products.
